Teams Introduction: Say Hello to QPR
As the new season is just few days apart, while everyone is counting down, let’s learn more about the new teams that will be joining us for the coming season.
Club name: Queens Park Rangers Football Club
Founded: 1882
Stadium: Loftus Road
Club chairman: Gianni Paladini
Manager: Neil Warnock
Rival: Fulham
The last time QPR played in the Premier League was 15 years ago, back in 1995/96 season, QPR finished at the 19th place and relegated to Football League First Division. Last season they secured the 1st place in the Championship by a 2-0 victory over Watford FC, and got their promotion.
QPR’s captain, Adel Taarabt who was also the top scorer of the team last season, netted 19 goals in the league. The team has signed DJ Campbell from Blackpool, which should be a boost to their attacking line, Campbell scored 13 goals for Blackpool last season and so far has already scored his first goal for QPR in the friendly against Luton Town. Other new signings included, Dyer and Gabbidon from West Ham, Bothroyd from Cardiff City.
Their first Premier League game will play against Bolton on the coming Saturday. Will the team find their way back to the Premier League? We will have a whole season to figure that out.
