Italy 2-1 SpainWe woke up in the middle of the night to support our team, only to see them lost. Cannot deny that this Italy team is an evolved team, still solid in defense but improve a lot in attacking. Italy is the team which scored the opening goal, if not for Casillas' outstanding performance in the first half, Italy wound have won the game earlier. The last time Italy played Spain, it was a 0-0 draw, and Spain won in the penalty shootout. No one enjoy watching boring defensive football, and last night's game both teams were creating so many chances which was really entertaining. However, bad news for Stoke and Barcelona. Torres was replaced by Llorente early in the first half due to concussion, and Torres may miss Chelsea's opening match of Premier League, against Stoke. Pique too, was replaced by Busquets due to injury. Barcelona is going to play Real Madrid on Sunday.
Goal scorers: (ITA) Montolivo, Aquilani; (ESP) Alonso (pen.)
Germany 3-2 BrazilTwo penalties were awarded by the referee, each team got one and both turned into goal. The other two goals by Germany showed excellent teamwork, as they usually do. Although Neymar scored the second goal for Brazil, made the scoreline looked better for Brazil. The 2014 World Cup host still have a lot to do before they entre the World Cup, if their performance doesn't improve, they may just lost the trophy at their own door.
Goal scorers: (GER) Schweinsteiger (pen.), Götze, Schürrle; (BRA) Robinho (pen.), Neymar.
Portugal 5-0 LuxembourgRonaldo and Coentrao both scored in the game definitely brought a smile to Mourinho's face. Unlike Barcelona, except Ramos is suffering from a back injury, the rest of Real players are ready and prepared for the game against Barcelona on Sunday.
Goal scorers: Ronaldo, Coentrao, Postiga, Almeida (2)
United States 1-1 MexicoThis game received a lot of attentions because it was Klinsmann's debut, and of course the result showed improvements from the US team, compare to last time the two teams met in the Gold Cup final. Klinsmann's team is not very different from Bradley, he kept most of the men that Bradley was using, but changed the way they play. Although US failed to secure a victory, there are plenty of things to be optimistic.
Goal scorers: (USA) Rogers; (MEX) Peralta
France 1-1 ChileSanchez did not score, but he assisted Cordova for the goal. This may be the only good news that Guadiola received this morning, as Spanish player were either injured or didn’t perform well last night, Sanchez may make his debut on the coming Sunday. On the other hand, Benzema too, provided an assist, the Real team does look better at the moment. We just can’t wait to see the game on Sunday!
Goal scorers: (FRA) Remy; (CHI) Cordova.
