Naoki Matsuda: Too Soon Too Young
Image via ESPN/GettyImages
We know footballers who dedicated their life to football, and Naoki Matsuda is one of them, who had given everything to football, even his death. He collapsed during training earlier in the week and was sent right to the hospital. He had a heart attack and was relying on life support but didn’t regain his consciousness. He passed away yesterday at the age of just, 34. He was a former Japanese international and a big brother to everyone in a positive sense, according to Matsuda’s Japan team-mate Shunsuke Nakamura. He played for Japan in the 2002 World Cup and was playing for Matsumoto Yamaga FC.
This is definitely a sad moment to the football world and Japan especially. They are already suffering from so many difficulties after the earthquake, the women’s national team did bring joy to their country by winning the World Cup but just a few weeks later, they received this great shock.
Normally we don’t update on Friday, but this is a really sad moment and we want to dedicate this post to Naoki Matsuda. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Naoki Matsuda. R.I.P.
