Goodbye van der Sar

We don’t like to see great players retire :( , but this is inevitable in the football world. Edwin van der Sar’s testimonial had finished last night and this is the real goodbye.

The testimonial was played between Ajax U13 and Man Utd U13; Ajax ‘95 (where he started his career) and Holland 98’; Ajax and Edwin’s Dream Team which included, Neville, van Bronckhorst, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick, Giggs, Zenden, Kuyt, Van Der Vaart, Ooijer, Cocu, Bergkamp, Del Piero, Rooney and Saha. There were three matches altogether and van der Sar played for Ajax 95’ and Edwin’s dream team.

van der Sar’s son Joe van der Sar also participated in the testimonial, he played in goal for Man Utd U13, and here is the video of him taking a penalty shoot against his father. =) What a lovely family!
