Match Result for COPA 2011 and WWC
After two penalty shootouts, one extra time and a 90 minutes game. These are the semi-finalists for Women’s World Cup 2011, France, Japan, Sweden and USA. France will play USA and Japan will play Sweden in the semifinals.
We only manage to watch last night’s USA vs Brazil’s game, but for sure the other three games were as exciting as this one. The USA managed to equalize at additional time, literally last minute of the game and went on to win the penalty shootout. Their goalkeeper Hope Solo did really well and saved Daiane’s penalty shot, and all five penalty takers of USA scored their penalty.
The first goal came really early at 2’ of the game and the USA was leading until 68’ when Marta scored a penalty. She went on to score another goal in the first half of extra time but didn’t manage to take Brazil to the semi-final. Wambach saved USA by scoring the equalizer. After that it went into penalty shootout. We are gutted for England and Brazil because we know how hard it can be, when a game went into the shootout. At the same time, congratulation and all the best to the semi-finalist.

Meanwhile, disappointments in COPA 2011 did not end. Brazil only manage to draw Paraguay, which left them in a situation as bad as Argentina. Like Messi, the Brazilians failed to get it right. Tomorrow, Argentina will have to face Costa Rica and only winning the game can give them a chance in qualifying to the semifinals.
On the other hand, Colombia, after winning the game against Bolivia, has already secured a place in semi-final. We just have to wait and see which team in their group will join him after tomorrow morning. Will it be Argentina or Costa Rica? What do you guys think?
