Group A:Surely no teams in this group need introductions, as they have been in the Champions League many times. Manchester City will play Napoli tomorrow and Bayern Munich will play Villarreal. Potential group of death?
Group B: Trabzonspor
Trabzonspor is a Turkish club which finished 2nd in Süper Lig last season. Their best achievement in Europe was back in 1977, they made it into last 16.
They will play Internazionale tomorrow.
Group C: FC Basel, Otelul Galati
Basel is a Swiss club, they finished 1st in Swiss Super League and got their place in Champions League after they won the play-offs. Their best achievement was in 2003, made it into the last 16.
They will play Otelul Galati tomorrow.
Otelul Galati is a Romanian football club, they finished 1st in Liga I, and will make their first appearance in Champions League tomorrow, against FC Basel.
Group D: Dinamo Zagreb
Dinamo Zagreb is a Croatian club, they finished 1st in their local league, Prva HNL, last season. They made it into group stage back in 1999 and 2000, but that’s the furthest they have gotten in Champions League.
They will play Real Madrid tomorrow.
