During lazy typhoon day, as we are stuck at home, we decided to do a little blog update. After some local footballs, we shall catch up on some Euro football news.
Last two days were the Champions League match days and the giants didn’t tell the same story. Manchester City lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich, but Tevez had apparently grabbed more spotlight then the match result. Manchester United only managed to get one point from the game against FC Basel, despite leading two nil in the first half, the game ended in a 3-3 scoreline. Chelsea too, only managed to get one point, facing their new signing, Mata's former club, Valencia, final score 1-1. On the other hand, Arsenal looks like they are back on their feet, another victory after the weekend game against Bolton, the game ended with 2-1 scoreline, against Greek giant Olympiakos. Barcelona and Real Madrid, too, had another victory, Real Madrid won 3-0 against Ajax and Barcelona trashed BATE Borisov 5-0, top scorer battle between Ronaldo and Messi still continue, both scored in the game.
Sadly, we did not manage to finish watching any of these games, but the results look interesting. What do you think about these games?

Picture of the Day: Photo inside a photo
Citizen players celebrated their first goal by snatching photographer’s camera and took their own picture. Although Tuen Mun managed to get an equalizer at the beginning of second half, Citizen went on to win the game by scoring a penalty near the end of the game, and this time, they celebrated by ‘playing golf’. Creative huh? And no, they didn’t practice that during training.
We took sometime to get inside the stadium for some local football during our holiday, and we had some great time there, for more match photos, click here! We also had a nice chat with Citizen player, Michael Campion, the article will be up as soon as we finished writing it! So, stay tune.

Chelsea vs Fulham: The Dramatic Moment
Image via Daylife/GettyImages
Glad we have stayed up last night, to witness one of the most dramatic penalty shootout ever. How is it dramatic? Because the ball hit the crossbar, hit the white line, but never passed the line. And this penalty cost Fulham the game.

Film Review: She's The Man
Film Title: She's The Man
Cast: Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, James Kirk
Synopsis: Viola (Bynes) and Sebastian (Kirk) are twins. Viola was in her school's soccer team but it got cut, so while Sebastian was in London for some music performances, she decided to BE Sebastian and joined his new school's men soccer team, a rival team that is going to face her own school. It was like the movie that we introduced last month, Bend It Like Beckham, about a girl trying hard to prove that she is capable to play in this male dominant sports.

Feature: What Happened to Torres?
We have witnessed the great finish in the beginning of the second half against Man Utd on Sunday; we also witnessed the ‘miss of the decade’ later in the game, both done by the same person, the 50 millions Fernando Torres. Somehow, media become more caution about the ‘El Niño is back’ headlines, because of all the false hopes earlier. So, where should we begin?

Book Review: Soccernomics
Book Title:Soccernomics: Why England Loses, Why Germany and Brazil Win, and Why the U.S., Japan, Australia, Turkey and even Iraq are Destined to Become the Kings of the World’s Most Popular Sport
Author:Simon Kuper and Stefan Szymanski
What is it about: It is about soccer (football) and economic. ;) Yeah, we know you can tell that from the book title. We highly recommend those who love the beautiful game and want to know more in depth statistics about the game to read this book. It analyzes football in a economical way, which is very interesting, and don’t worry, the two authors did not use a lot of economical terms. It is easy to read and easy to understand, even for people like us, who have zero sense in economy. This book analyzes interesting football phenomenon using statistics, graphs, numbers and help you understand more about the relationship between the game, and the outcomes. There is one chapter we strongly recommend, it is chapter 6, The Economist’s fear of the penalty kick: Are penalties cosmically unfair, or only if you are Nicolas Anelka?

Torres Provides Bitch-face for Free
We are terribly sorry for the delay, this week our blog didn’t update as regular as we promised, but things will resume to normal next week! We also want to emphasize that Torres’ bitch-face is not easy to capture.
Apparently, Torres bitch-face is not as pricey as his goals. He managed to show plenty of them during the game between Spain and Liechtenstein, when he was on the stand (not the bench) watching his national teammates played. It was not much of a surprise when Del Bosque finally decided to drop Torres from the lineup, as Spain has plenty of strikers who actually score goals.

Feature: Who Can Be A Football Star?
Just a tiny announcement before I begin the feature: Today is the Euro qualifiers, so we will be on Twitter, tweeting Spain-Liechtenstein game live, join us on twitter and discuss with us!
Not sure if it is just me, or people who watch football long enough, sometimes can’t help but wonder, what made a footballer into a football star? Skills? Don’t think so. Achievements? Not really. Luck? More likely. All of above? Well, let’s see.

Picture of The Day: When Lion met Tiger
Although did not play in the Spain-Chile game earlier, Llorente managed to let himself being seen. We spotted him not only from Ramos’ Twitter, but Cescy’s Twitter, and Captain Casillas’ Facebook too.
Some press refer to him as the ‘Lion King’, probably because of his hair? And the Lion Kong/Greek God decided to take on a tiger with Ramos. We hope they won!
