Farewell Paul Scholes

Sorry for the delay, but we had a pretty hectic weekend.

Can't believe we have waved goodbye two great Manchester United players in a week. First Edwin van der Sar and now, Paul Scholes. Scholes' testimonial was played between Manchester United and New York Cosmos, which ended with a 6-0 scoreline. Of course United won! Scholes played for Manchester United one last time, and scored his 'trademark' goal from 25 yards out. We can imagine his testimonial must be more emotional than van der Sar's, simply just because he is a real Red Devil, who had only played for one club in his whole football career.

He may not be as famous as Beckham or other players at his time, but he is as importance as them in the process of Manchester United's success.

The Manchester United lineup on the day is the current squad but New York Cosmos has plenty of big names who played the game just for Scholes, including players like Cannavaro, Robbie Keane, ex-Manchester United player Nicky Butt, Dwight Yorke, even ex-rivals like Patrick Vieira, Sol Campbell; Gary Neville was playing for Cosmos as well.

Goal Scorer:
Scholes, Rooney, Anderson, Diouf (2), Welbeck.
