Being the defending champion, Spain didn’t come out very strongly. In the same group as Italy and Croatia, they do have some challenges to face. Today, Spain is going to take on Croatia and Italy plays again already-out Ireland. Who do you think will stay in the tournament?

Group C
The shocking factor in this group probably not the results, because in a way, the results were still pretty reasonable. What surprised us, was the formation of Spain in their first game – with no proper strikers in their lineup. So we were not surprised when La Roja only managed to have a draw with Italy. Ireland, being the weakest team among all, was the first team to leave the tournament although they still have one game left to play. Croatia beat them and Spain trashed them, so there is a big chance that Italy will be able to win against them as well. Yet, the situation can still be quite messy (or maybe not), as we will break it down for you below:

Spain: A draw or a win can see them through, but if Spain loses and Italy win, Spain out!
Croatia: To qualify they have to win the game, or draw with Spain while Italy loses. If Croatia draw Spain with a 1-1 scoreline and Italy wins more than two goals, Italy will qualify, but if less than two goals, then Croatia will qualify. If Croatia have a  2-2 draw with Spain, Italy will be out no matter how many goals they scored.
Italy: All they need to do is win their game and pray for Spain to win theirs too.
