Euro 2012: Group B Sum-up

germany

The outcome in Group B after two rounds is probably the most shocking among all? Yes, they are the group of Death, so we have expected some dramas in the group, but never thought the biggest failure would be Netherlands. One of the finalist in the World Cup might not be able to make their way through in Euro 2012, hmmmm that’s shocking!

Group B
We called them the group of death  and everyone was expecting Denmark be the first team to receive their death as their opponents are just too strong. But the games told us otherwise, being one of the teams with a good chance winning the tournament (At least that's what everyone thought), Netherlands lost their first game to Denmark. Simply because striker can't deliver and somehow along the way they have forgotten about teamwork. Germany on the other hand, grabbed a not easy victory from Portugal, given them the precious three points to survive in this group.

In the second round, Germany took on Netherlands and grabbed another 3 points which should be enough for them to qualify. Portugal on the other hand, continue their good performance and won the game against Denmark, taking the important 3 points. Although with 0 points in hand, Netherlands still stand a chance to qualify if they manage to beat Portugal today. Below we will breakdown the situations for you:

Germany: Will definitely qualify if they win or draw with Denmark. Only if they lost to Denmark with 0-1 or 1-2 scoreline and Portugal wins, then Germany will not qualify.
Denmark: Win Germany by two goals, then they will be able to move on to the next stage.
Portugal: If they win and Denmark draw or lost, Portugal through. But if Denmark managed to win Germany less than two goals, ended with a result 1-0 or 2-1, Denmark and Portugal will go through. Yet, unfortunately, a 3-2 victory from Denmark will send Portugal home. Same as 4-3, 5-4…and so on.
Netherlands: Chances may look slim, but yes, they still stand a chance. If Denmark loses and Netherlands win by 2 goals, then they will qualify.
