While most attentions were on yesterday’s Man City versus Newcastle league game. In Germany, Cologne's game against Mainz was called off as the referee did not show up.

The referee, Babak Rafati, was found attempted suicide in his hotel room, not long before the game’s scheduled starting time. Fortunately, they found him in the hotel room soon after he had committed suicide. Rafati is alive.

A match being called off can be rescheduled, but in life, we don’t always get a second chance. Glad that Rafati is still alive, whatever reasons that made him came to such decision, hope it will be solved soon.
