Everyone will nod their heads in agreement, if we say this is the most shocking penalty shootout we have ever seen. Due to the overlapping time, we did not switch to the Brazil game until the Women’s World Cup final had finished. It was already the end of extra time, and we witnessed this horrifying shootout.

The highlight showed that Brazil was the better team and they did have quite a number of opportunities to score, but it just didn’t happen. Paraguay goalkeeper prevented some chances, and some due to Brazil poor finishing, the game remained goalless after 120 minutes. The two giants, Brazil and Argentina, just have to exit the tournament in the same way, by losing the penalty shootout.

Brazil has made history last night, being the first team in COPA America to missed all penalties in a penalty shootout. Tevez’s penalty was at least being saved by Uruguay’s keeper, but Elano, Santos and Fred’s penalties couldn’t even find the net, only Silva’s penalty was saved by Villar. Brazil lost the penalty in a humiliating 0-2, and out from COPA 2011.

Paraguay will play Venezuela in the semi-finals and Uruguay will play Peru.
