For many years, the football world had been filled with the red colour, Man Utd, AC Milan, Spain national team, and so on. This season, however, the colour has finally changed, to the Blues. Man City won the Premier League; Chelsea won the Champions League for the first time during the weekend and in Hong Kong, Kitchee lifted the league champion trophy again.

In Champion League …

The final was played on Saturday and ended with the blue flag hanging high. The beginning of the game was no doubt quite boring, but in football, dramas are always nearby. How? Let me break it down for you.
The first goal of the game scored at 83rd minute, by Thomas Muller, Bayern Munich. When the German side were celebrating the victory and probably thought the trophy already in their hands, Drogba scored for Chelsea in 88th minute, given Chelsea the most important hope they needed. So it wasn’t hard to imagine how shaken the Chelsea fans must have been when Bayern Munich was given a penalty at 95 minutes. And how relief they must have been when the penalty was saved by Cech.

The game went into penalty shootout and dramas didn’t stop. Chelsea missed their first penalty and when everything looked good for Bayern, they missed their 4th penalty, which saved by Cech and Schweinsteiger missed the last. Drogba calmly put the 5th penalty into the back of the net and wins the Champions League for Chelsea. No doubt Drogba is the key player of the whole tournament, saved Chelsea in many remarkable moments and wins them the trophy.

The final just reminded us once again that football is so addictive because you just CANNOT predict the result, no matter how obvious the winner appeared to be.

In Championship…

After spending one season in the Championship, West Ham beat Blackpool in the play-off final by 2-1 and earned themselves a promotion back to the Premier League. With Sam Allardyce and players like Kevin Nolan, James Tomkins, Jack Collison and so on, they are definitely a team to look out for in the coming season.

In Hong Kong League …

Hong Kong league played their last round during the weekend, as TSW Pegasus lost to Sun Hei on Friday, Kitchee already confirmed to be the champion of the league before they had played their last game.

What’s worth mentioning this week is that, Sun Hei player Cristiano Cordeiro, played his last game as a footballer with Sun Hei in this game against Pegasus. Marked a good ending for the 38 years old Brazilian, as Sun Hei won 2-1 in the game.
