League Cup Final: Kitchee vs TSW Pegasus

League Cup Final, Kitchee
Sunday was the big day for League Cup final between Kitchee and TSW Pegasus. Both teams have chances to win League Cup champion, League champion and FA Cup champion, but being the better team throughout 90 minutes on Sunday. Kitchee claimed their first trophy of the season. Winning the game with a 2-1 scoreline.

There is a saying that goes, “Whoever managed to play their own style in the game, wins the game.” So there was no surprise that it was Kitchee who lifted the trophy on Sunday. Kitchee played their usual ‘Barca’ style in the game, quick passing, full cooperation among players and never stop pressing TSW Pegasus’ defense. Pegasus’ defender Lee Wai Lun was the obvious ‘weak point’ of the team, there were countless time Kitchee  organized their attacks on the left hand side, and got into Pegasus’ half easily. Even Mckee had been helping on defense throughout the first half, Kitchee scored their first goal at 35th minute.

Pegasus attempted to change their tactic in the second half, but made a bizarre decision by replacing Mckee with Godfred. It wouldn’t make any differences replacing a striker with a striker when your problems were at the back. Therefore, Kitchee went on to score their second goal at 61st minute. Pegasus has enough tall players but they only began to change their attacking pattern in the second half, using some long balls, overhead passing and headers. Yet it was too late as the team weren’t able to perform well. Carrijo’s penalty only made the defeat looked less horrible but Pegasus barely created any threatening chances.
Kitchee player Lo Kwan Yee was named Most Valuable Player  of the tournament.
