Our First 3D Football Experience

Before I start, I would love to wish all our readers a Happy Chinese New Year and all the best in Dragon year. =)

Cable TV broadcasted 3D football game for the first time last night, and it was the first ever 3D football match that’s being broadcast in Hong Kong as well. We were all ready at home at 9.15pm to prepare for this big moment. And, of course it didn’t disappoint us. It was an amazing experience and you MUST try it!

There were two games last night, both were available in 3D on Cable TV channel 204. It began with Man City vs Tottenham, the game itself was exciting to watch, and with 3D, it appeared more real. Many must have wondered how is 3D football match different from the normal match. Here are the differences:

• It looks very REAL. Somehow you feel like you are watching the game in the stadium, especially if you have a big enough TV screen, things seem like they were happening right in front of you.
• You will also feel that the players were floating in front of you, especially during close-ups. It felt like they were standing right in front of your eyes, as if you can just reach out and touch them.
• Tackles looked extremely painful.
• There was this bird which flew pass the camera during the game, and I actually thought there’s a fly in my room. lol. Very real, huh?

It was a completely different experience from watch football in 2D, and if you have missed both games last night, don’t worry, more 3D games are coming soon. =) Oh yeah, when you switch to channel 204, you will only see two split screens. You have to press the 3D button to combine the screens then everything will be in 3D. Also, did you take off your glasses during half time? Next time, keep it on, as Cable TV has also made some awesome 3D advertisements, they are very entertaining.

Will I watch football in 3D again? Hell, yeah! Give it a try, guys. You are going to love it!
