A Weekend Full of Surprises

Remember last season there was this weekend when every team at the top of the table lost points? Things only get better in the weekend that just passed, not only teams lost points, but, in a dramatic way!

It all begins when Liverpool drew Norwich at home. The Canaries had a good game on Saturday night and with a little help from the crossbar, they managed to grab a point at Anfield. Guess the Giants just have to lose point when coming against Norwich.

Barcelona followed the footsteps of Liverpool and it was when the dramatic bits started to kick in. A nil nil draw at home against Sevilla is not the shocking part, the shocking part was how Sevilla was two men down at additional time, Barcelona was awarded a penalty and Messi MISSED it.

Then the drama moved on to Sunday. Everyone was expecting a not too exciting Manchester Derby but it turned out to be tennis score, 1-6, one of Manchester United’s biggest defeat, at Old Trafford. Evans was sent off in the second half and goals seem too easy for City. The ball just rolled into the back of the net when we were still trying to figure out what was going on.

In the end, Chelsea ended the drama with 1-0 defeat to QPR. They may have lost points, but every player of team Blue who played 90 minutes full received a souvenir from the referee, except Petr Cech. Bosingwa and Drogba got straight red, which may concern Chelsea fans as they are going to face Arsenal this week.
Speaking of which, Arsenal has escaped the drama, probably because they are no longer being seen as the ‘Giants’ this season, and Real Madrid too, now that Barca fans may begin to worry about their champion. And people will start to take Man City seriously.
