Match To Catch: Blues vs Reds

Torres, Chelsea, Man Utd

Torres seems determined to end his four months goal drought tonight. Yet, since his last goal was against Swansea, and didn’t manage to score against big or small teams after that. No wonder Chicharito said "Not a chance, Fernando. Not tonight." He had a point there you know. Torres should probably think more about how to stop the Red Devils from scoring than to get a goal himself.

We don’t really want to make a prediction here because of our failure in predicting El Clasico earlier, but guess we should give it another try? Okay, here we go. There are quite a number of variables in the game. As Drogba is not around, whether or not Torres can score, really could change the game. Let’s say his terrible performance continues, then it will be depending on either Mata or Sturridge to score, and I say the former is more reliable.

As for defense, David Luiz is not at his best lately; Ashley Cole is being suspended, and John Terry probably won’t be able to play, Gary Cahill may be able to have his debut for Chelsea tonight. This game will probably give us a chance to see if the 7M is worth it. Although playing at home, without some important players, it will be hard for Chelsea to take these 3 points today.

Man Utd on the other hand, has a more strong squad, I mean at least most of their regular players are there, and Chicharito is back too, which makes the front line stronger. The goalkeeper position will probably be the only thing that may rise a question. Will it be De Gea or Lindegaard? De Gea’s ability has been questioned many times since he joined the Premier League, so will Ferguson give him another chance in such an important match?

While NFL fans are all excited about Super Bowl, we football fans are all waiting for this big game today. Man Utd is 3 points away from Man City after City won their game against Fulham last night. Chelsea is trying hard to catch up with Tottenham and Arsenal just two points away from Chelsea. 3 points will change a lot for both teams, so this will probably be an exciting match, and our prediction ….. Man Utd wins.

Another reminder: Do Not miss Liverpool vs Tottenham, tomorrow!
