Film Review: She's The Man

shestheman(imdb)Film Title: She's The Man

Cast: Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, James Kirk

Synopsis: Viola (Bynes) and Sebastian (Kirk) are twins. Viola was in her school's soccer team but it got cut, so while Sebastian was in London for some music performances, she decided to BE Sebastian and joined his new school's men soccer team, a rival team that is going to face her own school. It was like the movie that we introduced last month, Bend It Like Beckham, about a girl trying hard to prove that she is capable to play in this male dominant sports.

You may realize something else about this movie if you're a Shakespeare fan. This film is adopted from his play, Twelfth Night, about this girl Viola, helping Duke to get Olivia, but herself fall in love with Duke without him knowing, as he always thought she's a guy. And Olivia, instead of falling in love with Duke, fell for Viola……These are all taken from Twelfth Night. You will like this film if you are looking for a lighthearted romance comedy that have something to do with football/soccer.

Quote: 'So, uh, you play the beautiful game... bros... brothers... brethren?' said Viola.

Rating: 6.5/10

This is definitely not Oscar nominates kind of films, but if you are looking for something relaxing, this will do. And if you're a Shakespeare fan and love the Twelfth Night, you won't want to miss it. =)
